BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANISATION
Nelisa Wellness Health Care Clinic is a non-profit organisation which was established as a private clinic in 2008. The soul objective of the clinic was to intervene in the lack of access to health and stigma associated with HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Primarily, the clinic was focused on addressing the issues of stigma surrounding healthcare workers and fear of disclosing their status. Then Nelisa Wellness Health Care Clinic was able to provide private healthcare services for the healthcare workers, to protect their dignity in the community. Eventually, Nelisa saw an opportunity to offer practical solutions to the issues associated with nursing HIV/AIDS patients within the healthcare and home environments.
This initiative decreased the number of patients defaulting on their treatment. The lack of sufficient funds for maintenance and management of Nelisa Wellness health Care Clinic, Neliswa Hospice & Training (Pty) Ltd saw an opportunity of establishing training under this new curriculum known as Health Promotion Officer ,which was specifically created to support government program known as National Health Insurance (NHI). Which falls under National Strategic Plan of health.
The aim of the NHI is to engineer the primary healthcare service within the community. Currently Nelisa is also running one-year occupational training known as Health Promotion Officer, which helps in community outreach health services and primary healthcare activities in clinics and in the community.
OBJECTIVE OF THE ORGANISATION
To remove the significant gap between private and public health system in the continual of current healthcare service delivery. To train on this new Government curriculum (H.P.O) to open job opportunities for everyone, especially the youth. To achieve our vision to be the best leading service providers in engineering primary health care services within our community.

Assist learners to achieve their full potential through quality education, training and recognition of prior-learning. It is the philosophy of Neliswa Hospice that training and education in business should be educational.
